FUA upcoming Meetings and Events

The next FUA meeting will be on April 22 at 6:30pm, location TBA.  The meeting will be a short one before our guest artist lecture, Tom LaDuke. We hope to plan one last year end event for May 6th. We are always open to more members, and as I have mentioned to some of you already, we are looking for those who want to lead the club next year.

Meeting schedule:
April 22: 6:30 - 6:55  Location TBA: Year end event planning. Tom LaDuke to speak at 7pm in VA 113 (official flyer announcement coming soon).
April 29: 7pm - 8pm VA 164:  Year end event planning for May 6th, nominations for next year's President, Vice President, Treasurer, and AICC representative.
May 6:  7pm - ?  VA 164:  Elect next years leadership and have our last event.

2010 Student Exhibition Show

The 2010 Student Exhibition Show went very well with a record number of participants, 66 Artists! Again, congratulations to all of the artists! The curators, Six Pack Projects, did an excellent job with the selection of artworks and were also valuable with their help putting the final touches on the show.Thank You to all of you who participated in the submission process, the hanging of the show, sitting the galleries, and closing down the show.

Visiting Artist Tom La Duke

LA Artist, Tom LaDuke, will be presenting a lecture on April 22, 2010 at 7pm in VA113.  It will be held within an Art History class on the Art World but it is open to the public.  The official announcement will be posted soon.

Call for Artworks

Submissions will be accepted in the East Gallery on:
Thursday March 25th from 3pm – 7pm or 
Friday March 26th from 12 noon – 4pm.
Artworks must be picked up on Thursday April 8th from 4pm – 8pm.
(up to 3 and no larger than 8 feet high x 6 feet wide).

We welcome works from all areas of art: 2D and 3D works as well as digital entries. Digital entries must be submitted with any special equipment required for exhibition. Accepted artists will be required to assist with the installation and/or the exhibition of the show.
Reception opening will be on Sat. April 3rd, 6pm – 9pm.

The FUA club holds numerous group shows on and off campus, attends many important gallery openings in Orange and LA Counties, and invites guest artists to speak at CSUF.

Spring 2010 Upcoming Events

The FUA Club will be hosting Visiting Artist: Tom LaDuke. He is a Cal State Fullerton Alumni with his BFA in Fine Arts and then he received his MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  He currently works and exhibits in Los Angeles.

He has a current solo exhibition "Auto Destruct" at the Angles Gallery in Los Angeles.  Show ends on 2/20/2010.

Guest Speaker: Kendall Carter

On December 3rd, 2009 the FUA club sponsored Kendall Carter as our guest speaker in our ongoing series of Visiting Artists lectures.
